Our Business Services Director Kirsty Gowans attended this month’s Entrepreneur Forum Focus Dinner. Keith Miller of Miller UK was on hand to talk about how he started his business. Miller UK created the world’s first fully automated universal pin grabber called the Mag 7 in 1986.

In 2003 they celebrated 25 years in business and moved to the new state of the art facility in Cramlington. With over 40 years in the business Miller UK has launched several new and innovative products and been tested by the best in the industry, including a legal battle with Caterpillar.  Miller are now a globally renowned company and have a casting facility in China. Their products include Powerlatch Couplers, Powerlatch Tilts and Buckets which are crafted and created and distributed worldwide.

Keith’s moto is ‘work hard, play hard and give a little back’.  One of Keith’s recent adventures was a bike tour for charity down the coast of Italy with Richard Branson. He also spends a lot of time with his family in his Spanish  holiday home.

Kirsty and Managing Director Dave Gowans have since had a personal invite from Keith to visit Miller UK alongside some business mentoring from the main man himself!

These inspirational events held by the Entrepreneurs forum are a chance to share knowledge, make new connections and be inspired.
