Borehole Drilling

We offer a wide range of services here at Drilcorp, but borehole drilling has always been at the heart of what we do. Over the last 30 years we have helped both domestic and commercial clients to realise the benefits of private water supplies. In that time we have worked with everyone from public sector organisations to multi-national corporations and even isolated households. And we are proud to say that no matter how big or small the requirement we always maintain the highest standards for customer service.

What is a borehole and what can it do?

Not only does drilling boreholes help to provide sustainable water and ground heating sources for both residential and commercial use, but boreholes can also be used in environmental assessments, construction and more.

If you think your household, business or initiative could benefit from a borehole, get in touch with our team today to find out more about what we can do for you.

Drilling a borehole requires precision and expertise. It involves the creation of a deep, narrow hole in the ground. There are several different ways to drill a borehole and the best method for drilling often depends on the location of the site itself.

For a water borehole, we need to make sure that there is a viable ground water source to tap into, which is what we call an aquifer. This is a rock that has water held within – water that could well have been there for hundreds or even thousands of years.

By drilling into it, the borehole works with the pressure from below the aquifer and allows you to access the water.

Drill Services

Our drilling services include a wide range of drilling operations, from small-scale to large commercial water-well drillings. Our Drilcorp Drilling Services (DDS) division constructs boreholes up to 1000mtr in depth for shallow oil exploration, mineral exploration and coal mine methane extraction. We also offer specialist reverse circulation drilling machines to construct large diameter boreholes up to 15000mm, or 5 foot.

Used for mine dewatering, ventilation, and commercial-sized water production wells, large diameter boreholes can be a vital addition to a site. Here at Drilcorp, we offer turnkey drilling solutions, incorporating design, construction and installation, to development, test pumping, commissioning and licensing. This helps to ensure a smooth, seamless and hassle-free service for our clients and helps to maintain the highest standards of service.

We’ve worked in a variety of sectors, including food and drink, mineral, oil and gas, public utility, government bodies, geo consultants, farming and agriculture and many more.

Our DDS team of engineering experts are unwavering in their dedication to providing the very highest level of service to our clients. Every single service we offer is delivered in a timely, professional and cost-effective manner.

Borehole Site Investigation

Borehole investigation and site investigations are both essential parts of any building or engineering project. This process involves several steps, including desk study, ground or soil investigation, contamination assessments and geotechnical analysis.

Boreholes site investigation is important in determining the ground quality of the site that’s being worked on. The information gathered from this analysis can help to establish the best approach when it comes to working on the site.

Get in touch with the team at Drilcorp today to find out more about the comprehensive borehole services we offer, from design and investigation to installation and maintenance.
