Graduate Site Engineer (Full-time, permanent, UK-wide travel)

Due to continued growth and expansion, Drilcorp are delighted to be recruiting to the role of Graduate Site Engineer, specialising in borehole construction and maintenance throughout the UK.

Drilcorp work with major blue-chip clients including public utilities, bottling plants, commercial enterprises and government departments. We are increasingly involved with water boreholes in the ground source and mine source ‘green energy’ sector.

The successful candidate will have the chance to work closely with the owners of the business and make a ‘real difference’ at our specialist, family-feel civil engineering firm. You will quickly be given the opportunity to take on key responsibilities and become an integral member of the team.

 

The role  

The Graduate Site Engineer will be developed to oversee multi-site projects, with clear progression to the role of Site Engineer. Client sites typically have a small expert crew of between 3-5 team members and projects last from four weeks to one year in duration.  

 

Key responsibilities include: 

Project Management

  • Support the operations management team to plan and deliver multi-site-based projects
  • Project liaison- acting as the point of contact between clients, suppliers, operations manager, and field teams
  • Ongoing operational project management support including- schedules, budgets, working hours, expenditures, site reports and financial records
  • Project meetings attendance
  • Assess project risks and provide solutions with the support of the management team
  • Recording project variations and required document updates

Health and Safety

  • Handling ‘live’ H&S and Environmental documentation and updating daily as required
  • Ensuring site operatives and any visitors comply fully with Health & Safety procedures
  • Preparing contract information packs/RAMS and briefing site operatives

The Graduate Site Engineer will be required to travel throughout the UK between Monday to Friday, along with occasional weekend work. Some periods of office based work in Seaham will be required, however it should be anticipated that approximately 50% of the role will be based remotely on client sites. Candidates should be based in commutable distance to the Seaham company headquarters.

 

Previous qualifications and experience

Essential requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or Geology related disciplines, minimum 2:2 (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a client/ customer focused environment
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable requirements

  • Professional experience in a similar role to include civil engineering/ construction site-based experience, health and safety management and project management
  • Experience working with New Engineering Contracts
  • NEBOSH
  • CDM training/ knowledge
  • CSCS card
  • SMSTS Certificate

Salary & Benefits

A competitive salary and benefits package is offered, negotiable by experience. All business travel and accommodation costs are covered through expenses. A company vehicle will be provided along with a fuel card.
