How Far North - Treatment in the Fair Isle
BoreSaver has recently been used to improve the water supply for the Fair Isle, for Scottish Water. A 200mm ID well, 73m deep supplies water to a reservoir capable of holding 3 days supply for the island. The well was contaminated with black residues of manganese. Pumping tests before and after the treatment showed a 33% improvement in the average flow of the well in addition to an improvement to the recovery after prolonged pumping. The treatment was carried out with the minimum of downtime so that the Island's water supply remained unaffected. The chemical treatment took a little over 24hrs. This is the most northerly treatment carried out in the world to date!
