To emphasise their commitment to total quality throughout their business, Drilcorp have successfully gained re-certification under the Achilles Verify assessment scheme, scoring a maximum 100% quality evaluation for its management systems and onsite assessments, 98% for its H&S management and on site systems and 92% for Environmental systems, achieving category B1 registration.

The re-certification process, carried out by the Achilles Auditor, entailed subjecting  Drilcorp’s Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental procedures and policies to a rigorous, in-depth inspection.

The Achilles UVDB database serves as a reference throughout the utilities sector, with its Verify scheme used to assess supplier performance within the critical functions of health, safety, environment and quality.

At the end of the assessment process the Achilles auditor commented that “This was the highest ever score that he had awarded for a B1 Audit”



HSEQ Manager Ian Turnbull, who has been with the Seaham-based company for just over two years and has been working to develop the Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems, commented that “The high markings were a reflection of the substantial performance improvements made across the whole company within the last two years and an indictment of the company’s commitment to driving up performance standards across the whole business”.
