Drilcorp is involved in the drilling and installation of boreholes to be part of an open-loop geothermal heat exchange system for the prestigious Park House development on London's Oxford Street.
The 500,000ft2 Park House project is the largest development on Oxford Street for 40 years and will provide some of the largest office floor areas in the West End of London together with much needed modern retail space on this internationally-renowned street.
The development also includes luxury residential accommodation occupying half of the building from the second to seventh floor, offering a much sought-after Mayfair address.
The project has presented some unique challenges for Drilcorp as we have been working on a very complex site where hazards are constantly changing in this fast-moving environment.
Drilcorp has been developing and implementing a "culture change "program over the last year that has been driven forward by the management team all levels of the company.
The ethos of the programme has been to promote the idea that policies and procedures alone don't equate to excellent in safety performance; it is the company's approach to leadership across the business that makes the difference.
Drilcorp's culture change programme is now paying dividends, with Darren Jobson, one of Drilcorp's employees being recently awarded with the Mace safety award for July on the prestigious Park House site.
This award is given to those who carry out their on-site work duties safely and diligently for a number of months.
Drilcorp is delighted with Mr Jobson's achievement and this has inspired them to continue their quest to develop best practice in Health, Safety and Environmental management in all areas of their business.
