After many months of research and field trials, Drilcorp’s Research and Development Team are launching their latest innovation –the multi-function, remotely-operated Test Pumping Station.
The Test Pumping Station, which can be remotely operated via telecommunication anywhere in the world, offers some amazing features.
The station can
- monitor and control water flow rates
- monitor water levels not only in the pumped well but also in up to seven adjacent monitoring wells
- monitor conductivity
- send alerts via instant text messages to nominated mobile phones, reporting on pump failure, power failure or low water levels
In addition the team are working on some additional testing functions that will provide ground-breaking functionality.
The data collected by the station is automatically posted to a secure server on the internet, ready for access, download and analysis by the nominated administrators, enabling up to the minute decisions to be made on how to continue the trial. The administrator can increase or decrease the pumping rate remotely by online communication with the inverter drive system on the test site that operates within a range of 5 litres a second to 35 litres a second.
The system offers substantial client benefits.
Running costs are significantly reduced, as there are no on-site labour costs once the station is running. Previously this type of testing required the presence on site of a minimum of two operators.
Instant access to results gives the client ‘live’ information over the internet enabling quick decisions to be made and implemented, backed up by the corresponding data changes, eliminating the need for repeat tests.
Data generated from the tests is stored on a secure, central server for up to 5 years, giving immediate access to historical test information.
The compact, 10 foot by 8 foot, steel, locked containers can be mobilised to site and commissioned very quickly, and because of their high element of security can be left unattended for long periods.
